January 26, 2006
SAN JOSE, Calif.—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Eyelit,
Inc., a manufacturing software provider for visibility,
control, and coordination of manufacturing operations
for the electronics, life sciences, and semiconductor
industries, announced today that Micralyne, a developer
and OEM manufacturer of MEMS components, purchased
Eyelit's award-winning Enterprise Manufacturing
Execution suite to manage and control its production
operations. Micralyne is the tenth prominent MEMS
manufacturer to recently select Eyelit's Software,
making it the standard in this fast-growing industry.
Eyelit was selected because of a proven quick-implementation
capability, application ease of use, and demonstrated
lowest total cost of ownership in the industry.
It was also important for Micralyne to select a
product that provided complete product traceability,
out of the box through complex manufacturing processes
and module assembly.
"Micralyne was looking for
an MES system to electronically track and gather
data on our complex MEMS process. We needed a system
simple enough to get up and running quickly, yet
scalable enough to handle future growth. After evaluating
several packages, we chose Eyelit due to its breadth
of features, scalability, and flexible configuration
capability," states Chris Lumb, President and CEO
of Micralyne.
"Eyelit's innovative solution is the
best value for companies looking to gain operational
efficiencies, track and manage compliance in a cost-effective
manner. No other solution in the industry today
can be implemented as quickly as Eyelit Manufacturing,
which was critical for Micralyne. Eyelit uniquely
provides a comprehensive, yet simple-to-implement
solution for even the most complex manufacturing
processes," stated Dan Estrada, Vice President of
Sales and Business Development.
About Micralyne
Micralyne develops and manufactures microfabricated
and MEMS- (micro-electro-mechanical systems) based
products. Micralyne is one of a handful of independent
companies in the world that manufactures MEMS in
high volumes. MEMS technology is built on the premise
of making industrial components smaller, faster,
and less expensive, and facilitates radical improvements
in the miniaturization of electronic and mechanical
devices. These types of devices are used in many
industries, including communications, automotive,
aerospace, and life sciences. More specifically,
Micralyne's micron-scale solutions (i.e., 1000 microns
= 1 millimeter) are found in emission sensors for
Ford automobiles, optical switching technology in
telecommunication networks, lab-on-a-chip devices
for drug discovery, and commercial press equipment
for printing today's most popular magazines. Micralyne,
founded in 1982 and privatized in 1998, is a profitable
and growing company headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada. For more information, please visit www.micralyne.com.
