Position: Vice President of Software Development
Eyelit, Inc, a leader in delivering software solutions to global manufacturing companies, is seeking a results-driven, senior technology executive to lead our company across all technology functions. Reporting to the CTO, the VP of Software Development will partner our product team, clients, vendors and private equity stakeholders and take ownership of all company technology, engineering and related security matters. This role will be key in analyzing, assimilating and managing disparate software solutions acquired through acquisitions.
Aligned and informed with the CTO, the VP of Software Development will guide the company’s technology vision, product development strategy, and lead the planning and execution of our technology initiatives. They will own and oversee all product development activities, security initiatives, as well as all private and public cloud infrastructure planning, implementation, and operations.
Targeted Background
A candidate with experience in a senior technology position at a mature SaaS organization with multi-national divisions is our primary target. Being well versed in building and delivering SaaS solutions including cloud and hybrid cloud migrations will provide the proper baseline for success. You will demonstrate quantifying value delivery through functional improvements or reduction of technical debt.
We desire the senior IT leader to prioritize deliverables and manage ambiguity. Effective leadership will be demonstrated through expanding the team, internal team building, onboarding, career growth, performance management and being a cultural steward of our company values.
Job Location, Status and Travel
This position reports through the Mississauga, Ontario office and is primarily work-from-home. This position may require travel in North America and internationally.
At Eyelit You Will
- Be the company’s visible technology leader by defining and communicating the company’s technology vision and strategy; Define and manage the engineering and cloud budget and spend
- In collaboration with the CTO and other functional leaders, be a co-owner (with CPO) of the formulation and maintenance of the company’s product and technology growth strategy and roadmaps, with a focus on identifying and championing technology-driven opportunities and remediating technical debt
- Define and continuously refine the company’s product development and software and cloud engineering best practices and operational standards and ensure that those standards are consistently met
- Develop mechanisms to ensure that all products and services are developed, delivered, and maintained at the highest possible quality, in budget and on schedule
- Grow and mentor a cloud engineering team which supports requisite standards and certifications for reliability, scalability, disaster recovery, security and cost
- Build a productive and efficient team by cultivating talent through recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and performance improvement
- Be the champion and leader for building processes and culture focused on cyber security; Ensure that products and systems maintain regulatory compliance for markets served
- Work with the CTO in definition and communication of company technology strategy to the Board of Directors, Provide quarterly updates to the Board on progress towards initiatives
- Lead or participate in other assigned projects
Desired Background
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or related fields from an accredited college or university
- 12+ years of progressive experience in software development; Experience building and delivering SaaS solutions including cloud and hybrid cloud migrations
- 7+ years in a leadership role with recent strategic oversight, preferably in a private-equity backed organization
- Advance competencies software technologies and development tools such as .Net, C#, Java, SQL Server, React, Python, jQuery, Angular, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, IIS, GitHub and Team Foundation Server
- Master’s degree and/or certifications are desired

Due to expansion and growth, Eyelit is seeking an Implementation Consultant to support our UK division, MESTEC. As part of our Professional Services team, the Implementation Consultant will play a crucial role in delivering and supporting successful projects using MESTEC’s suite of tools. You will be working with some of the world’s most prestigious manufacturing companies both on and off site to drive improvement in their productivity.
MESTEC provides a suite of manufacturing management tools including Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) and Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS). These tools are delivered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and deliver rapid improvements to manufacturing KPIs such as labour productivity, product quality, production costs and delivery lead-times.
The Implementation Consultant will become a subject matter expert and power user; know the tools, the design, best use of application to our customers. In our drive for excellence, this role will explore new avenues to create content and deliver impactful training to end-users. Additionally, this role will contribute to refining processes and procedures based on testing and learning from new ideas or new products.
Key Contributors
- Work with customers to understand key objectives / challenges / requirements
- Work with customers to map their processes to MESTEC
- Train customers to configure MESTEC to most effectively achieve the requirements identified
- Specify any custom requirements, such as interfaces, custom functions and custom reports
- Create, align and manage a plan with the customer to deliver the implementation through to handover to support
- Code the custom content above or work with the wider team to ensure quality delivery on time
- Sign off with the customer that all project deliverables are met
- Work with the customer post project to ensure longer term value is being delivered by the system in the key areas for that customer
Job Location, Status and Travel
Qualified candidates should live in the U.S and will work-from-home with all equipment furnished. Travel may be required to North America, Europe or the UK to visit with international customers as required.
